    A sunny Day

    Thursday, August 28, 2008, 12:25 AM [General]

    A sunny day

a breeze caresses from my left shoulder to my right

as if the wind was hugging me

    in front of me

an army of white clad angels

    of the purest form

    stand before me

on top of a hill poised for battle

a steep, jagged hill. not much for climbing up

I look to my left, i see

    adulterers, criminals, murderers, and evildoers

I look to my right, i see

Demons, devils, fiends, and Gods rejected creatures

    I give the command

    the tattered and torn banners

blow in the wind, like serpens after prey

    up we go

    fighting heavens mightiest warriors

    we will be victorious though

    for we are Gods finest.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

This poem is not liked to well by the really religious. I must clarify that this poem is spoken in view of the crowd that jesus would hang around. he would always be around the "bad" and "evil" crowd. the angels in the poem represent those who think that they are perfect christians in a way. that evil is evil and isn't worth a try to save.

    barack Obama joins the ruttles

Thursday, August 28, 2008, 06:21 AM GMT [General]

Dirk, Nasty, Stig, and Barack. The pre-fab four are to reform for a glittering tour of seaside pavillions on the north east of england. Since the retirement of Barry Wom the lovable scouse drummer with the mop top and the penchant for hairdressing, the band seemed at a loss, directionless, until the fatefull meating with barack.

[Dirk, Nasty, Stig, & Barack. The prefab four]

"Oh yes, the ruttles have always been a great influence on me and michelle in our college days", says Barack. I was really into the 'let it Rot' era tunes, and it's a great honour to be going out on tour with these guys at last.

Barry Wom is said to be running for president of the united states.

Que Sera, Sera! * Whatever Will Be Will Be!

Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 10:18 PM PST [General]

So the rest of our week has been pretty typical. Work...work and more work. During the week we really don't have too much time to do things. On Tuesday I got to my jewelry design class which I'm always excited about. I love this jewelry class. I really want to make it a career. I love to use my hands and my creativity. Getting to that point might be a little hard to do. The school I really want to go to is FIDM in Los Angeles but the tuition is so high I don't know if that passion will happen but I know Jose and I will try everything to make my passion come true. We support each other like that. We have our ups and downs but in the end we both want what is best for us as a whole and as individuals. I know this contest have many other applicants in it all wanting this perfect wedding for one reason or another. The reason I want to win is because we have so many other financial burdens I don't know if a wedding with our family and friends will be able to happen if we don't win. I have so many ambitions and I know Jose does to. I'm praying that we can at least make it to the finals. I would love the chance to get married this November. If not I don't know when we will have the money for it. If we don't I know it just was not meant to be right now but in my heart I feel it is. I've imagine how our wedding would be if we won this contest and how happy we would both be. Well I have to go do some home work right now so goodnight! Sleep tight!

    Ode to the Curious Mind

Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 10:12 PM PST [General]

I was thinking about the song from The Sound of Music, " These are a few of my favorite things" and it made me curious...if given the chance, what would other people put in place of the lyrics to that song? So, I ask anyone reading this to leave me a comment listing 50 of their favorite things. Dreams, inspiration, movies, music, you name it, I want to hear it.

I'm feeling particularly curious today for one reason or another.

    Progress!

Thursday, August 28, 2008, 01:09 AM EST [Juno's Search Dog Training]

I forgot to write a blog about our exciting day of training on Sunday.  We saw some visible progress!!

We went to Pam's to do some work at her place.  It is always good to train in a variety of places, so the dogs know that they have to work everywhere.  We did some agilty and she did her normal great job.  She had some trouble with the metal ladder, but did a great job on the wooden one.  We'll start doing some horizontal work with the metal ladder until she gets comfortable with the feel of it.

We then went to work our directionals - the baseball diamond.  Juno had to run over to the barrel to see if there was anyone there.  Yippee!  A sign that she thinks this might be a fun game!!

She did a great job on directionals - a mini miracle.  (We went home and did them on Monday and she seemed to forget again.  Go to Pam's on Wed and she did fine.  Now what is that all about???

But, what I was most pleased about was that while she was barking at Pam in the bark barrel, a bird flew over.  She stopped barking, followed the bird with her eyes, and then barked again!!!  Pam gave her a fast reward at just the right time!  This is the first time she has given an indication that she might be able to work past a bird and that is a very good thing!!

    Finally going home

Thursday, August 28, 2008, 01:08 AM EST [General]

For a first note, I broke it off with my fiancee for a little while.Thankfully he understood and hopes one day I'll give him a second chance, and I will. We're still young. I'm 18 and he's 17 (turning 18 in April), and I think we need to just stay friends for now until both of us are ready for us to be getting married and raising a family.  We both need to mature a little more and get our seperate lives all ready before spending the rest of our lives together. I know he and I will be back together. If I explained, either people would be bugging me asking questions that I'd never have answers for them, or nobody would believe me.

But yes, I'm finally going back to Iowa. Sadly, me and my family had to lie to my aunt and uncle for why I was coming home early. It was my suggestion to lie because not long after I came up here, there was a family feud between my family and my aunt and uncle. So we lied to say I needed to be home because of my younger sister (who's 10, 11 in October). Really, I'm coming home for several reasons. 1) I miss home and everyone back home very VERY much. 2) My 4 year old cousin that I came up here to watch (I nicknamed her Achmed, because she's like a mini terrorist) was getting worse by attitude and grabbing things off shelves and hiding things. 3) My aunt and uncle are fighting even MORE now. Just recently, they got into a fight because my uncle said (or rather, yelled) that my aunt did not tell him the pizza she cooked for him was ready, when in fact she did, he was just too busy chattin' on his cell in their room. My aunt said (or, again, rather, yelled) I was witness, and asked me if she had told him the pizza was done. I yelled at her not to get me in the middle of their petty fight, but she forced me to. That was the last straw for me. So I'm going home. I'm 18, just graduated, had just moved not long before I came up here to take care of my cousin, it was a sudden thing...I WAS supposed to be paid 200 bucks a month for this, but right before I left to come up here, my aunt asked if it was okay to drop it to $50 a month since everything they had to pay for now was out of their own pocket. I said fine. But then I was doing extra chores like mowing their lawn (which I was fine with since it gave me good exercise), buying groceries, and even got their car an oil change! But no extra money.

All my friends and family (even my drinking smoking grandfather) say I'm being mistreated and need to come home. I finally broke down after mom had said my dad was willing to fake a heart attack just to get me home immediately. I was so stressed and tired and bored (yes bored, only because the only company I got majority of the time was a 4 year old, and even when my aunt and uncle were home it was boring cuz they don't have the same sense of humor me and my family have like belching contests and making fun of songs and movies) and I broke down just recently and told mom "I need dad to fake a heart attack for me. This is just way too much for me. I've taken care of troublesome kids before, but Sera is worse than my baby sister, and she used to try to kill me at Sera's age. I need to come home." She said she'd work something out, but Monday I told her about the incident about the Sunday night fight where I was dragged in the middle. My mom was gonna call Tuesday night this week, but moved it to Monday night because less busyy schedule to talk to my aunt (an be less stressed) and because mom was getting fed up too. So now I'm leaving Saturday on a bus, and will be home Sunday evening. I can't wait to be home, although I'l miss listening to the Kane Show live in the car when driving around in the morning (I'd have to drive my cousin to daycare/preschool when I had enough gas in the car).

Is this how it feels when you switch teams?

Thursday, August 28, 2008, 02:03 PM AWST [General]

Is this how it feels when you switch teams? Is this how Mo feels right now? After more than a year of enjoying the Cavs message boards, I find and start a new chapter in my life. Here's to hoping that like our origins, we as a group, of loyal Cleveland Cavaliers fans, enjoy another time + hopefully the best moments of our chosen fanhood in this wonderful place they call CavFanatic.

Over-hyped vs. over-the-hill: Kimbo Slice set fight Ken Shamrock on October 4th

Thursday, August 28, 2008, 12:52 AM EST [General]

Shamrock welcomes opportunity to test Kimbo's mettle

    By Franklin McNeil
    Special to ESPN.com

    Kimbo Slice
With an MMA record of 3-0, Kimbo Slice, right, is still learning his way around the cage.

After months of speculation, EliteXC heavyweight Kimbo Slice has an opponent for his Oct. 4 date at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla.

Slice, whose real name is Kevin Ferguson, will face veteran mixed martial artist Ken Shamrock. The fight will air on CBS.

There had been talk of Slice facing Brett Rogers. Tension between the two began on May 31 in Newark, N.J., where Rogers made disparaging remarks about Slice's performance against James Thompson.

After Slice and Rogers exchanged words, it was widely believed they would face each other this year. But after much deliberation, executives at EliteXC decided on Shamrock.

"Ken Shamrock poses serious threats to Kimbo Slice's maturation in the MMA game," EliteXC vice president Jared Shaw told ESPN.com. "He is a veteran of the sport and widely considered one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.

    Ken Shamrock
Ken Shamrock can't wait to get his hands on Slice.

"It's an enormous fight to the casual fan as well as the hard-core fan. The hard-core fan, they've grown up with Ken Shamrock. He will be looking to put an illustrious finish on a storied career."

Shamrock, 44, will look to end a five-fight skid with a win over Slice. In his most recent fight on March 8, Shamrock was stopped during the first round by Robert Berry. Despite his slump, Shamrock is confident he can handle Slice.

"I welcome this opportunity," Shamrock said. "Kimbo has had some success. He's big, he's strong and he hits with his heavy hands, but anybody that is a veteran in this sport understands that unless you have a lot of time in the ring, you have not been tested completely.

"Kimbo's ground skills have not yet been tested, and I have the ability to test him. He hasn't seen anything yet."

The 34-year-old Slice is undefeated in three sanctioned mixed martial arts fights -- he defeated former heavyweight boxing champion Ray Mercer in an MMA exhibition bout on June 23, 2007. But Slice received lots of criticism after struggling to defeat Thompson.

Slice started strong in that bout, but as the fight wore on he showed fatigue. By the second round, Thompson was able to control him on the ground. Some ringside observers, including Rogers, claim Slice tapped out at one point.

However, Slice would survive and land several hard punches in the third round that caused blood to flow from Thompson's left ear. A Slice right hand would stagger Thompson, leading referee Dan Miragliotta to stop the bout.

Rogers, who stopped Jon Murphy in the first round on the undercard, had harsh words for Slice afterward.

"I'm saying it like this: Kimbo Slice, that was just garbage, man," Rogers said. "I'm going to speak it real. You did tap. ... I saw it. I was right there."

The words nearly caused Rogers and Slice to come to blows. After order was restored, each fighter expressed interest in settling their differences in the cage.

Shaw said EliteXC was close to putting Slice-Rogers on the Oct. 4 card, but after much deliberation the promoter decided to go with Shamrock (26-13-2). Though Rogers' shot at Slice fell through, Shaw said there is no need for the St. Paul, Minn., resident to bow his head.

"His future is incredibly bright in mixed martial arts and with EliteXC," Shaw said of Rogers. "He's 8-0 and has eight knockouts. He's been seen on Showtime and CBS.

"Rogers is at the beginning of a tremendous climb. If he's looking at this situation as him being overlooked, he'd better get in the gym with that thought ... because he's not being overlooked. The Kimbo Slice fight is coming to him.

"If they both handle their business, there will be a date for them in the very near future. For the fans who wanted to see Kimbo Slice-Brett Rogers, they will have to wait just a little longer. But it will be that much more exciting."

Slice couldn't be reached for comment.

Rogers will not appear on the Oct. 4 card. He is slated to fight on Nov. 8 on Showtime, but an opponent has yet to be named.
